Signal and Information Processing

In 2003, Discipline of Signal and Information Processing was established in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and has achieved fruitful outcomes in academic research, postgraduate teaching, and industry-university-research cooperation.

Discipline of Signal and Information Processing has 2 national-level talents, 3 Shanghai-level talents, 6 professors, and 8 associate professors. 90% of the teachers have doctoral degrees. In recent years, this subject has carried out a lot of research work in the fields of signal acquisition and processing, image information processing, signal processing device manufacturing technology, information transmission technology, wireless communication and information security. The key research is the needs of Shanghai's industrial development in the fields of informatization construction, advanced manufacturing technology and equipment, and it is also the indispensable technology required by the domestic industries. The disciplines have undertaken major scientific research projects such as the National Key Research Program, the National Research Instrument and Equipment Research Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Major Projects in Shanghai. In the past three years, the disciplines have published more than 70 high-level papers on world-class academic journals such as Nature Communications, Nature-Light: Science & Applications.

In terms of postgraduate teaching, Discipline of Signal and Information Processing has well-conditioned professional laboratories, and attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' scientific research ability in teaching. The graduates have been widely recognized by enterprises in the field of information and communication.
