The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) is a non-profit international academic organization dedicated to optics and photonics. Since its establishment in 1955, it has attracted more than 258,000 members from 184 countries around the world. The collective talent and dedication of its members make the Society a powerful force in the science and engineering community. SPIE is led by a dedicated team of volunteers including the Board of Directors (CEO, President, CFO, etc.), multiple committees, conference chairs, and journal editors with a mission to collaborate with researchers, educators, and industry to advance light-based research and technologies to improve the human condition. Professor Han Sen of the Academician Zhuang Songlin team of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology is not only an SPIE Fellow, but also a member of the leadership group, and also serves as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, a review of the Metrology Award, a conference chairman, and a consultant of the student chapter.
